Anwar Monitors Embankment Repairs in Cibubur

East Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar and his staff, inspected the location for repairing the Caglak River embankment at the Rawa Kuda Housing Complex, RT 13/10, Cibubur Urban Village, Ciracas, Tuesday (5/7). The embankment, approximately 10 meters long, has been repaired by joint personnel.

Repairs were completed on April 23

He came riding a bicycle accompanied by Ciracas Sub-district Head, Yus Wil Rasyid; Cibubur Urban Village Acting Head, Ronny Abdullah; and Jakarta DPRD Commission A Member, Bambang Kusumanto; as well as other related officials.

From this review, he assessed, the water flow in the Caglak River should be normalized because it is slightly curved. Aside that, the river bed (DS) is too high, so it must be lowered, thus the water can flow normally.

"I'm worried that the higher the DS, the water could overflow into residential areas and flood again. Of course, we don't want that," he expressed.

The visit received appreciation from Jakarta DPRD Commission A Member, Bambang Kusumanto. Besides being able to stay in touch, it could also find out about the condition of the area, especially when construction has been completed.

"I really appreciate the mayor who has seen the conditions on the ground and given direction to residents for the future," he added.

Ciracas Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Task Force Coordinator, Deby explained the embankment was firstly collapsed on April 4. It had been repaired and collapsed again on April 10, precisely in Idul Fitri.

Then permanent embankment repairs were conducted again on April 12, involving 18 joint personnel from the local SDA and PPSU. The 10-meter-long embankment that was broken is now fitted with river stones and there are sloops every three meters to make it even stronger.

"Repairs were completed on April 23. All use river stone material to make it stronger," he closed.
